The Simpsons Gap Trailhead is the official start point of Section 2. It is located in the general visitation area and just off the bitumen access road and car park. Simpsons Gap is a scenic gorge and waterhole and is a popular with visitors to the national park. There is easy 2WD access to the trailhead. A new trailhead is being built for 2014 season. |

Getting to Simpson Gap Trailhead |
 |
Access to Simpson Gap is via the sealed Larapinta Drive and can be accessed by conventional 2WD vehicle. Its is approximately 18km west from Alice Springs, and a further 6km off the main road along the sealed Darken Drive.. Simpsons Gap is open to vehicles between 7am and 9pm. |
